Diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, gestational and LADA)

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease characterised by an elevated concentration of glucose in the blood (hyperglycaemia), due to reduced or absent insulin or to the resistance of the tissues to its action. Diabetes can be diagnosed through a blood laboratory test. The condition is positively associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, renal failure and more. Nutrition is a major factor in regulating diabetes. Knowing the nutritional composition of foods allows the correct adjustment of medication as well as the prevention of the disease, with the aim of achieving better post-meal glucose levels and, consequently, better glycaemic control.

The Eatsmart team trains you to adapt the dietary — “therapeutic” — recommendations to your personal needs. The goal is to regulate your glucose without compromising the quality of your everyday life!
