Dr. Emmanouella Magripli
Clinical Dietitian-Epidemiologist, MSc · PhD in Nutritional Epidemiology.

Dr. Magripli's exceptional experience in managing clinical cases of type I and type II diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidaemia and metabolic syndrome, together with her specialisation in childhood obesity, make her the ideal advisor for their effective management.
Education
- 2016: Awarded a Doctoral title for her doctoral thesis (PhD) in Nutritional Epidemiology by the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition of the Agricultural University of Athens.
- 2007-2009: Graduated from the University of London (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine), where she completed her Master's degree in Epidemiology with a specialisation in chronic diseases.
- 1996-2000: Graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where she received her degree in Nutrition with Distinction and Great Distinction. She was honoured with the NSERC scholarship (National Sciences and Engineering Research Council), having graduated among the top 15% of all students across Canadian Universities in her field.

- Visiting Professor at the Department of Medicine, Laboratory of Public Health, University of Patras.
- Coordinator and Lecturer of the course “Epidemiology of Nutrition” within the Master's programme in Epidemiology, Hellenic Open University.
- Lead Data Analyst of the Hellenic National Nutrition and Health Survey (ΠΑ.ΜΕ.Δ.Υ.). This study investigates dietary habits in Greece and their relationship with chronic diseases, based on a representative sample of the Greek population. Her research interests include investigating the relationships between nutrients and dietary patterns and cardiovascular diseases and their risk factors, obesity and diabetes mellitus.
- Participates as a scientific contributor in daily and periodical press publications, television programmes and books on nutrition.
- From 2013 to 2017 she joined the teaching staff of New York College (NYC), taking on teaching in the first year of the BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences and in the second year of the BSc (Hons) in Human Nutrition of the University of Greenwich.

- Collaborator of the Hellenic Food Authority (ΕΦΕΤ) with the aim of safeguarding public health.
- Vice-Chair of the working group of the Hellenic Atherosclerosis Society, titled “Epidemiology and Atherosclerosis - Prevention”.
- Greece's representative in the Working Group of the European Commission responsible for the regulation on the Maximum Amounts of Vitamins in food supplements and fortified foods.
- Collaborator with Harokopio University and the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

- From 2017 to 2020, Dr. Emmanouella Magripli formally began her collaboration with the University of Oxford (Center for Statistics in Medicine, University of Oxford) as an Honorary Research Associate. She worked on developing optimal methodological approaches for systematic review and meta-analysis data extraction. On the basis of this work, specific research output on heart failure has been published.
