Nutrition for vegetarians

In recent years, vegetarian eating has gained more and more followers. The two main categories of vegetarians are vegetarians and vegans. A vegetarian is defined as a person who has excluded from their diet foods such as meat, poultry, fish and seafood, as well as foods made from meat products such as sauces and stocks, and animal products such as eggs and dairy. By contrast, vegans strictly follow a diet that contains no kind of meat, fish, seafood or shellfish, nor foods that derive from or are made from animals, such as dairy products, animal fat, eggs and honey. A vegetarian diet can provide the body with all the nutrients it needs. It is important, however, that the meal plan is designed correctly, with the right foods and the ideal food combinations, so as to meet the body’s needs in macro- and micro-nutrients.
